Policy and Procedures
The Neighbor to Neighbor Lifeline Fund for the Town of Guilford has been established to meet emergency housing needs. Families and individuals who are ineligible for other housing assistance programs and are without other means may request emergency assistance from these funds. These funds are intended to address immediate and emergency housing needs. All requests will be reviewed by the committee to determine if there are extenuating or special considerations, recent loss of income, extreme medical/natural or man made hardships to be considered in granting the application.
FUND GUIDELINES/POLICIES
- The N2N Committee, which consists of the Guilford Youth and Family Services Director, Guilford Social Service Director and the Guilford Women and Life Center Director, may accept a grant application and interview a potential recipient.
- The N2N Committee will review each application and make a decision on each application. The check will be signed by the Director of Women and Family Life Center. All disbursements require signatures from the full committee on an expense voucher.
- A disbursement from the N2N Lifeline Fund is a one time only grant and will not exceed $2000.
- Records of all expenditures from the fund will be reported to the United Way on a monthly basis.
- The confidentiality of all recipients will be protected at all times.
