| ABOUT THE TASK FORCE
The Internet is an immense resource with many benefits.
It has changed the way we do business, manage our homes,
communicate with friends and family, and learn about
our ever-changing world.
The Internet is also a place we should enter with an
awareness of the potential dangers that exist.
The Community Task Force on Internet Safety for Youth
was developed in response to the growing concern about
Internet safety. Locally, as well as nationally, incidents
of cyberbullying, inappropriate and unsafe use of technology,
and child pornography and sexual exploitation are affecting
our communities. The widespread availability and use
of the Internet means new possibilities for education
and resources, but it also means new threats to the
safety of our youth.
The Task Force is here as a resource to help you access
the information you need to keep your family aware,
informed and safe while enjoying all that the World
Wide Web has to offer.
